Alt-country father Jason Ringenberg recently said of Scotlands David Latto
“I first saw David Latto perform at Belladrum in 2011 and loved his set. His song 3000 Miles from Nashville is a classic. I actually had the pleasure of singing it on my last trip to Shetland, just a few miles down the road from where Thomas Fraser had lived.”
Now The albums release is October 1st and a tour is underway this weekend. The hub of The David Latto Band is songwriters’ David Latto and Gavin Brady. Their brand of Scottish Americana was borne out of late night drinking, listening and picking sessions in the quiet of the Fife countryside. This eponymous debut was produced over the course of a year in the same garage where those early songs took shape. This album follows on the critical acclaim achieved from their recent EP release which featured the afore mentioned radio favourite, and homage to Shetland music legend Thomas Fraser “3,000 Miles from Nashville” (listen below) and won them airplay around the BBC Networks in The UK, in turn further cementing their rising star credentials on the Scottish Roots Music Scene, leading directly to appearances at Southern Fried Festival and Belladrum Festival. Catch em at a venue near you.
