Why not invite your favourite independent musician to play for your friends family and his fans in your front room, I’ll be surprised if he/she won’t show up sometime this year and play for you, let me know about it and if The Medicine Show Radio Moose Mobile is loose is near enough we’ll come and broadcast it too. Happy Hosting, Happy New Year - Rob Ellen
Good day ladies and gentlemen,
Well, it’s cold. Really cold. But we don’t have to dwell on that and instead look forward 50 days to Spring. Right? In the meantime make sure to not leave your pets outside for more than 5 minutes and remember for yourselves, frostbite sucks.
In other looking ahead news we’re wrapping up the plans and arrangements and are looking forward to being back in the EU and the UK in March/ April. After a short holiday in Istanbul we’ll be heading to Berlin and then to London to start a 3 week tour on March 31st at Twickfolk. The tour will take us down south to the coast and then through the Midlands and up into Scotland (I love Scotland) and then back down to Sheffield for a show with the Fargo Railroad Company. That’s going to be a lot of fun. All the details are currently up at www.JoshHarty.com on the Tour page.
This next week I’ll be heading up to Sturgeon Bay, WI to meet up with some of the best songwriters in the country and team up with pAt MacDonald and do a load of writing at the Holiday Music Motel for "Love on Holiday". If you’re in Door County, get your tickets soon for the shows at the Third Avenue Playhouse. www.holidaymusicmotel.com/calendar-and-tickets
After "Love on Holiday" I'll be back in Madison on Sunday, February 10 for "Love on Atwood" featuring songs about love and love-gone-wrong with myself and a few other Love on Holiday artists: Genevieve Heyward, Claire Kelly and Barrett Tasky. We might be slightly delirious from a week of all night writing and recording in Sturgeon Bay, but that should make the evening super interesting! This is a special winter show sponsored by The Wisconsin Room and the venue, Threshold and it's FREE (well, technically, although we will be asking for donations to help pay the musicians). Keeping with the V-Day theme there will be chocolates for purchase from local chocolatier, Gail Ambrosia, as well as wine and free snacks. Hope to see you there!
Stay tuned as there may be some new recordings coming down the line…...that’s what a little bird told me.
Take care, stay warm, be cool.
