Charlie Roth: Broken Ground

Charlie hails from Minnesota where he grew up listening to the radio and falling in love with all the magic sounds of the sixties. He's been learning songs since before he was old enough to sing them in a bar and has made a living from singing other folk's songs - and a few of his own - all his life. He claims to have over 1000 songs in his repertoire, so I guess at his shows, if you want to hear something familiar, you can call out…See More

So, that's one… Continue

Sean Taylor: Walk With Me

London native with Irish blood, Sean Taylor has been doing his level best to be John Martyn reincarnate for most of the last decade, and has earned a lot of extravagant praise in the process. Well I love the early 70s Martyn sound as much as the next man but I have to say that I've really struggled to enjoy what Sean Taylor does. His previous album, Calcutta Grove, has found its way back onto my player numerous times without me ever quite 'getting' it. His singing style is determinedly lo-fi,… Continue

Kacey Cubero: Fill Your Cup

It's a bit of a shock when somebody comes along out of the blue, never heard of her at all, and she's clearly fully formed as an artist, at the top of her game already. Kacey Cubero is that person, a Washington DC native relocated to California and now recording in Nashville. This is actually her second cd, and comes on the back of several years devotion to her writing and performing - high quality work like this is usually nine parts perspiration to one part inspiration.
